Alf Mazzitelli, General Manager Corporate
Alf Mazzitelli is the General Manager Corporate and Chief Finance Officer at the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC). He is also an active member of AUSTRAC's Executive Committee and Leadership Group.
Alf joined AUSTRAC in April 1992 and spent his first 12 months as a data quality control officer and intelligence analyst, before joining the Corporate area as a finance officer. For a short period during 1995 he was seconded to the Department of Finance and Administration and then the Attorney-General's Department to build relations between AUSTRAC and these Departments on funding and budgetary related matters. Upon his return to AUSTRAC, Alf lead the Finance and Administration team. In 2000 Alf took on the role of Senior Manager, Corporate, before taking up his current role in November 2006.
Alf has spent much of his career at AUSTRAC developing the capacity of the Corporate function in line with sustained agency wide growth. Alf has also introduced a number of internal and external reporting mechanisms in line with public sector governance reform. Alf was also instrumental in securing additional base funding for the agency on several occasions. More recently, he successfully secured significant additional funding for AUSTRAC to support AUSTRAC's AML reform implementation programs.
Prior to joining AUSTRAC, Alf spent several years in retail banking.Alf holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Accounting and is a member of CPA Australia.
