Martin French, Chief Information Officer
Martin French is the Chief Information Officer at the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC). He is also an active member of AUSTRAC's Executive Committee and Leadership Group.
Martin has worked for AUSTRAC since April 1992 occupying a number of roles; first as a Systems Architect and Database Designer for four years (1992 - 1996), then as the Information Technology (IT) Development Manager for six years (1996 - 2002). Martin has been CIO since 2001.
Martin represents Australia on the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, and has actively participated in the Egmont IT Working Group since its creation in 2002.
Prior to joining AUSTRAC, Martin worked as an IT consultant for a leading United Kingdom (UK) bank. He began his career developing software and databases for a large UK Police Force.
He has been in the IT industry since 1982 and holds a degree in Applied Computing.
