Multi-use list

AUSTRAC's AML/CTF reform multi-use list

Under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act), AUSTRAC has a significantly expanded role as the national AML/CTF regulator with supervisory, monitoring and enforcement functions over a diverse range of industry sectors. AUSTRAC is therefore seeking applications from organisations and individuals who can provide expertise in its transition to the new legislative environment.

AUSTRAC has compiled a multi-use list of expert product and service providers. Once registered and approved, relevant organisations from this multi-use list will be invited to submit tenders for identified projects required during the reform program.

Current areas of required expertise identified on the multi-use list include:

  • providing industry and stakeholder expertise relevant to the designated services specified in the AML/CTF Act
  • developing regulatory programs (including monitoring, analysis and risk assessment methodologies)
  • designing, developing, implementing and/or maintaining information management systems, such as evidentiary and case management systems
  • developing technical and procedural policies, rules, guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • developing/enhancing AUSTRAC's information systems and interfaces with various categories of businesses that may be subject to AML/CTF regulation
  • designing/conducting educational and awareness-raising programs and activities
  • designing/conducting AML/CTF and other specific training programs
  • undertaking a detailed costing analysis of the impact of the changes both on the agency and on the affected industry sectors.
This list is not exhaustive and AUSTRAC will consider applications that clearly address other significant AML/CTF reform criteria.
