Can
I write my statement of claims in dot point or do I have to use prose?
Either is fine as long as you provide enough information and evidence
to support your statement of claims against the selection criteria.
Do I have to address the sub-elements of the selection criteria?
No, you don’t. AUSTRAC has adopted the Australian Public Service
Commission’s (APSC) five core capability clusters as our core selection
criteria. In order to better understand these criteria, you are strongly
encouraged to visit the APSC’s link at http://www.apsc.gov.au/ils/index.html
Please note that you are not expected to address each of the sub-elements
of the five capabilities but rather to reflect the theme of each capability
in your claims against the selection criteria.
How
long should the application be?
You should write between half a page to one full page for each of the
selection criteria. Definitely do not write more than one page for each or use small font. Please do not attach copies of course certificates
or other certificates as we will ask to see the originals if we need them.

What
should I include in the application?
You should include:
- a covering letter to the AUSTRAC Recruitment Officer that clearly
states the role for which you are applying
- a completed AUSTRAC job application cover sheet
- your claims against the selection criteria for the role
- a curriculum vitae or an outline of your work history.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
If your questions are about the role, you should call the contact
officer. Their details will be provided with the information in the "Vacancies"
section. For all other queries including conditions of service, you should
contact the AUSTRAC Recruitment Officer.
Should I send my application to the recruitment officer or the contact
officer?
You should send your application to the AUSTRAC Recruitment Officer. The
various addresses are listed in the “Submitting Your Application” section.
