AUSTRAC has access
to a number of selection activities. These activities are listed below.
You may be asked to participate in one or more of these activities and
maybe even some we haven’t thought of yet. We are continually reviewing
possible activities so that we can give you even more opportunities to
shine.
The Interview – the traditional interview is always going
to be around. At AUSTRAC, it may be the only selection activity you undertake
or it might be just one in a number of activities. If it is one in a number
of activities, you can expect a shorter than normal interview. Usually
the purpose of this interview is to draw out any individual questions
the selection panel have remaining. Sometimes we give you a few quiet
minutes at the start of the interview to look over the interview questions
and make some notes. This way you can get your thoughts together and also,
if you are getting tired at the end of the interview, you can refer back
to your notes to jog your memory.

The
Group Activity – we love the group activity and we hope
you will too. We put a number of applicants around a table and provide
them with an AUSTRAC scenario typical to the role you are applying
for. We then give you some time to discuss the scenario as a group and
come up with some answers.
Individual Task Activities – these are exercises that you
will undertake on your own and are specifically related to the tasks required
in the role you have applied for. If you are applying for an analyst’s
role, it will be an analytical exercise; if you have applied for a
corporate communications role, it could be a writing exercise. |
